DescriptionAfter paying out shed loads of money over the past 20 years on weed, i thought it about time i started to grow my own. I spent a lot of time researching before i did anything and watched a lot of grow DVD's. Below is a step-by-step description on how i started. Firstly i had to build a grow space, i had no spare room, garage, basement etc so had to create a space in my bedroom. I basically completely reduced the bedroom size by 18" by adding a false wall, i screwed several length's of 1x2 inch wooden strips to the walls and across the ceiling and floor for the frame-work, then nailed 3mm sheets of boarding to it. The space was SMALL, just 18" wide and 4ft long but better than nothing! The inside of the space was painted brilliant matt white and a sheet of plastic was pinned to the floor. A bathroom extractor fan was fitted to aid in heat/air exchange and a standard oscillating fan was also brought into the room to help keep things cool and airy. Last but not least, power leads, a digital thermometer/hygrometer and a PH/light/moisture meter were put in the room. All set!!

Tired of coughing up phlegm?? Here at GrowKind we switched from smoking to vaporizing 10 years ago, and our lungs have never felt better. In that time we have tried every vaporizer you can think of including domes, digital vaporizers, light bulbs, heat guns, and the volcano. Some work better than others but after all that time we still go back every day to our vape pens. Do yourself and your lungs a favor and head over to Vaporwarehouse. Don't Smoke! -- Vaporize!

The Grow Room The grow space - just 18" wide and 3.5ft long, but high enough to add a small vegetation space at the top. (seen in later pictures). Both were painted white for excellent reflection! 05/20/08
Seedlings. The seeds were bought online from a reputable UK company. Planted first were Snow White, they were kept warm and moist in a home-made soil consisting of: 1 part regular shop bought compost, 1 part worm castings (an amazing fertiliser!) and 1 part building sand to help with water retention. within a week i had 8 healthy seedlings. - Only 2 failed to germinate! The seedlings were given 24 hours light (4 x 100w fluorescents - 6400k), sprayed every 2 days and the tops of the plant kept no more than 6 inches away from the light bulbs. Just to mention: The reflectors for the fluorescents were made from simple aluminium foil food trays that you can buy from any supermarket/store, they are cheap but do the job great! 05/20/08
2 Weeks On... The seedlings (now 8" high) have been homed in a much bigger pots. They are still lightly sprayed every 2 days with tepid water. So far so good! 05/20/08
4 Weeks On... All is still looking good and the plants are doing fine. Still no need to fertlise/feed them as the worm castings used in the soil keep the plant fed for 8 weeks+! As the grow-space is very limited i need to get these babies flowering soon. Time to think about reducing the light hours to 12/12 and powering up the HPS! 05/20/08
2 Weeks Into Flowering... The 400w HPS is working nicely and the plants are still growing like mad, won't be long before the growth slows down now! (hopefully). 05/20/08
Males..... The plants have all shown their sex now and out of 8 plants, 3 turned out to be male, these were quickly out'ed before they could pollenate the girls. 05/20/08
4 Weeks Into Flowering... 4 weeks on all is is still ok. Had some problems with heat, having a 400w HPS in such a small enclosed area causes a lot of heat, and getting rid of it is not easy! I have the extractor fan on 24/7, as is the oscillating fan, and i've even altered my lighting times so that they are on at night when the temperature is much cooler than the day, but even with all this the temperature in the room still averages 85F - Heat can literally fry your plants, the leaves crisp up and turn brown and growth is severly affected! - There is not a lot of detailed info on the internet about too much heat, but take it from me...too much heat severely damamges your plants! 05/20/08
Grow Room Overview.... A photo of the grow room. At the top is the vegetative space where a couple of clones taken from the plants just before they went into the flowering room sit, and a new strain (White Satin) seeds have been planted. I make sure that both spaces are kept clean and free from dead leaves and soil deposits, as that's how pests and diseases start! 05/20/08
Coming Soon...... More photo's and details of the harvest, the new strains, and more importantly the quality of the smoke will appear here shortly...... Peace! 05/20/08
