: I have ten skunk seeds. Is it ok if i plant only five and use flourescents for the first 4-5 weeks then go onto a HPS? Whats all this about mother plants etc. Can I not just grow seeds from start to finish? Is Carbon dioxide important? How many hours of light do i need to give them in the seedling and vegetation stage and how many for flowering?, I heard it is just 12 hours light from start to finish, is this correct?

Well there are a lot of questions up there. A guide is coming on this site soon that will answer many of them. I will touch on the major ones. If you want 5 plants you should plant all the seeds. This is because you have to figure at least 5 will probably be male, then another 2 might die, so then you only ended up with 3 good females out of 10 seeds. This is where the mother plants come in. If you get 3 good females you can take the best two and mother them out. Then you clone those and you will always have good genetics. CO2 is important bot not critical. You can grow fine bud without it. I would give them 18 hours of light while seedlings, once they have 2 or 3 nodes switch to 12/12 in order to start the flowering process. Pull out any with signs of being male immediatly and only keep the fine females. Good Luck.

: Please help
