After smoking for almost fifteen years and sick off getting ripped for shit weed, I decided to try and grow some for myself. Problem being no teacher and limited knowledge. My attic is big and dry, but is almost the temperature of outdoors. I cornered a peice off and bought a 400w hps light. The total growing space is a metre squared. I have in total eight plants in there. They were all female so i'm assured and after reading up am convinced so myself. The vegative stage went well so I thought. They were not big by any standards they were bushy with big thick stems. And a lovely green color. I switched to flower about a month ago. After two weeks the bottom leaves went yellow.. The tops remained green though and the budz began sprouting. I looked at them yesterday and the green leaves at the top of the plant have all turned to a very dark red color. I reckon theyre ready to chop in about two weeks but will they still be alive then.. The buds as i said still look quite healthy and frosty but the actual plant looks quite scraggly. Please help a first timer(you guys seem to know your shit)....P.s i also have in the room a fan and an extractor so i assume theyre getting the air that they need. I am also using canna feed once a week. The attic is also cold at night when the light is off!

Dude
if you think there is only two weeks to go. stop using nutes. now i dont think this should be a problem. what the plant is doing is its putting all its strengh into squeezing the last bit of goodness inot thoes buds and not very concerned on growing leaves and shit. hope this helps.

The reddness of the top leaves could be caused by the plant getting to cold at night. If plants that are grown outdoors are left too long into the fall, they tend to turn a dark reddish or purple color. Try keeping the plants a little warmer at night. Extreme temperature fluctuations are traumatizing to the plant. Dude is right too. Plants start to put all they have into getting ready to reproduce. Some of the leaves will turn yellow and drop. This is normal in the last weeks of flowering. The yellowing sounds normal, the red sounds like it's getting too cold at night.

I,ve thought of applying heat at night but what is the best way to do it, i've got a small blow heater that smashes the electric... But the problem with that is its a very dry heat if you know what i mean.. What about heat matts that they use in aquariums for lizrads and stuff. But that would only heat the bottom soil, would that be enough. If you can help me anymore would be very much appreciated..( I dont know if this makes a difference but the weed i'm growing at the mo is skunk)
