I was in the carribean earlier this year and I came back home with some seeds. I haven't got any growing kit yet , so I decided to see what would happen. I now have a plant which is about 15 inches high. It was outside in the summer and now it is indoors. I would like to know two things. First as it seems healthy is there any point introducing it to artificial lights at this point or should I just keep it as it is? Secondly, as I do not know if it is male or female I assume that one day it will flower or not - if it is a male, can I smoke it anyway ? I appreciate that it is only one plant but seeing as I have taken it all the way from the Carribean, it would be nice to give it a try !

you are going to need some lights to flower the plant, are there any signs of flowers?.....white hairs?.....or sacs that hang down?.....if there are hairs sticking out then you have a girl, and you should put it on a light cycle

yes you can smoke males but they arent as potent as the females. most people just make hash out of the leaves of males. is it starting to get cold where you are? if it is i would move it under a HPS. are you planing on growing again? because if not you might just want to borrow a light of a friend or just continue outside. but if your growing again then buying a HPS light and flowering under that might not be such a bad idea.

Thanks for the replies - The plant keeps on growing, but as it looks like a Triffid, I guess it is a male ! I think I will leave it inside until spring and then put it in the garden again - Will keep you posted !

I recoment you try to get a couple f clones. then flower your big plant using a 12 hour light cycle and a 12 hour dark cycle. The only way to really tell the sex of your plant is to flower it. Use the sun as best you can. read up on cloning. If you have kicken plant why waste it? And yes you can smoke the males, but there is a reduced potency- not to say that the males can't get you really stoned.
