i know this question probably been answered but if i use 2 flourescent light through the whole of growing will i get a descent plant. i know i should use a hp but my dad wont let me buy one cause he think it will make the house catch on fire.

flouresents will do during the vegetative period, but once you get into flowering, you really should have an hps, your plants will probably just be really weak......

I vegged my first crop w/ 3 flourescents and 2 gro-lights and they were good looking plants, but I never tried flowering like that, but I really wouldn't recommend it...if you have no other option it is worth a try though

It's not so much the number of lights or even their spectrum (tho this does make a difference when getting down to the details). If you just want to grow some bud flourescents are fine and can be used the whole way. Just make sure you have plenty of watts. If I had 1 plant and was trying to grow in under flourescents I would make sure it had at least 400watts of light on it. Even if these are all flourescents the plants will be fine.

where do i find a 200 watt flourescent all ive seen are 65. like home dept?

Try to get ahold of one of those lights of america round flourescent that have their own transformer and shit, like $12 they screw into a regular light socket, they have a better spectrum than a regular bulb and are equivalent to a 150 watt light bulb, thats pretty bright, i forget he lumens but it was up there, they have a 3 year lifetime also.

I just chamged over to 2 compact Flo bulbs from GE 150 watt equivilent putting out around 1700 lumens each... Seem to be working good... Will post if I have any issues

If you are going to grow off fluorescents, this is the way to do it: 1)go to walmart and buy the $25 lights of america fluorescent work light...I forgot how many watts it is...you'll see it. Buy one or 2 of these. 2)Get some of those grolux fluors. that have full spectrum, get a lot of added wattage to these, this is what your plant will be flowering off of. 3)get a timer and you're set.
