If your plants are showing signs of weakness after the oil treatment, make sure to rinse the leaves real well and give the plants a couple of days to recoup. The oil can plug up the stomata on the undersides of these leaves, and literally smother them.. Good luck man. GFam

Yep they are gone! First I used the SM-90 which seemed to rid the plants of the juvenile critters.. There were still adult mites present tho.. Then I mixed up a batch of sm-90 and mostly pyrethrum spray. Soaked them with this, waited a couple days, then hit them with a horticultural spray oil.. After 3 days with the oil on them, i stuck the plants under the faucet and rinsed them thoroughly..
Im not sure if it was the horticultural oil, or a combination of all the treatments that eliminated the mites. After the last treatment, and rinsing, they were showing signs of Phousphorus Def., so I just hit them with a mild Chemical P Nute (Shultz Bloom Booster). Once i seen the nutrient uptake stabilize, I hit them with some Hygrozyme.. They have really rebounded since then. They are taking right off now, and are healthy as ever.. GFam

So i did not want to make another thread regarding this widely discussed topic...i have a few questions
i have 6 mother plants that are...well...big...(see avatar)...i was literally about to flower them but them i noticed that some of them looked suspciously different....upon close inspection I noticed some cholorphyl discoloration on the leaves...so i started looking at them.... of course...spider mites...i am 90 percent sure...i don;t think ive ever seen one before (until this morning)....i attempted to look at it with my loupe but was unsuccessful. i can still see them with my naked eye. ok... one plant is more effected than the others...what should I do with this one? I cannot kill it. no way. Don;t have the heart...it is an NL X hash plant that has been growing for like three+ months...she's a BEAUTE! now these plants are not near death or antyhing...so I think i can manage this..even if I have some all through flowering. i saw NO WEBS. I am 90% sure that the oldest mite in the room is no older than 2 weeks...giving me some workign room with their numbers, which are low. I searched the hell out of four of the plants...no sign of them on two (the cough and widow i think are notoriously diease/bug resistent...THANK GOD) I cut a few of the fan leaves off that i saw some on...they were mostly the lower fan leaves with some SMALL N def. and a few necrotic spots (normal for plants of this size)...i;m guessing they attack the weakest part/leaf of the plants... WOW THIS POST HAS GOTTEN LONG HERE ARE MY POINTS/QUESTIONS they hate wind, right? I have a vortex that i just turned to full blast...plus an oscillating fan that is now putting my plants through a hurricane... WHAT DO I DO WITH THE TWO MOST EFFECTED? (mind you I only found 6 combined mites on each...sure there are more...but the density is nil....i caught them early) if i leave them away..they will be without wind, good light, and friends. They are also out in the wide open. WOULD IT BE BETTER TO CONTAIN THEM OR LEAVE THEM SEPERATED FROM EACH OTHER? i just bought: 3 hot shot no pest strips small bottle of miticide pyrthrum bomb i have sprayed with a neem oil soltution combined with gognats...made those bitches drip...but they are so big...i probably only covered 75% of them...i know it won't work 100%. i just realized i have some azamax...forgot about it...i might hit them with that in three days. i know they hate moisture so i am attempting to raise the humidity DO THEY HATE LIGHT? why i ask is the two plants that have the most, or any at all are the bushiest....the sativas and the one i have trained wayyy out dont have any...i figure they are looking for the shade...is this correct? i am going to google to see what colors represent what stage of life of the mite...im seeing some amberish and some yellowish...and one translucent.... ALSO ARE THEIR EGGS TRANSLUCENT? when i look at the undersides iwth my loupe i am seeing some spaced out translucent balls...i cannot tell if those are capitulated stalked trichomes are eggs. have not seen any "patches" of eggs, persay... and why i cannot tell is because they are mixed in with those sword like resin glands/hairs you have during veg. Thanks guys.. This was very long... but any help is appreciated....you guys think i'll be alright as loong as I stay ontop of it? would it help significanty with the eggs if i literally RUBBED each and every leaf underside with my fingers? i will fuccing do it...take me 5 hours...but if it means ill be rid of them a few days faster...done deal.
