What causes nutrient burn ?

too much fertilizer causes it. Its really hard to burn your plant with organic ferts though (at least the 1-0.5-1 that I use for veg). You are more likly to burn your plants with a strong chemical fert. If you are using one be sure to start with alot less then the amount it says to use on the bottle and work up.
