LED light question

if you bought the clear LED lights and then put a red or a blue transparent film like thing over the light would that give you the color spectrums you needed or would the plant not know what to do with that light?

Just use the LEDs as is. The plant will just ignore the spectrum it can't use.

I hope you have a LOT of them.

as the previous poster said the plant will use what it needs but you don't gain efficiency that way. The best thing to do is to buy LED's that are the colors you need (mostly red and blue but a touch of orange and even a slight hint of GREEN don't hurt).

As the previous poster said, you will need ALOT of bright LEDS.
