Okay I jsut wanted to say thanks to HS for adding in this DIY section!
Good call man, this site was in need of one.

Okay well, I got tired of not having a proper cloning machine to help me with my cloning. And since from what i hear bubble cloners have the fastest and best rate of success, with roots in 3-7 days.

This cloner holds 12 clones at a time, and can be made easily with the following materials for about 23$.

1- double outlet air pump for that extra bubble action(10$)

(note: Make sure you have check valves installed, as my pump came with 2 check valves and they can be bought seperate for like 1$ a piece)

1- 8ft long clear pump tubing(2$)

1-rubbermaid plastic box the flip top type(2$) dimensions( 6" x 12")

2 -air stones the 5" long type (4$)

1 -can of flat black spray paint if your container was clear like ming(1$)

2- Bags of gravel to hold down the air stones.(4$)

Tools needed: Drill and drill bit

Drill two holes the size of the tubing as close to edges as possible. For this little cloner, i bought a flip top box that i had to paint black before i drilled anything.

Okay now drill 12 holes about equidistance apart, and these will be the holes for your clones.I don't understand why folks make big holes to drop cups or styrofoam in when they could just drill holes with a drill bit directly into the plastic big enough for the cutting AND roots to pull through when the clones are ready.

Okay now, hook up your airline to your pumps outlets. Make sure that in the line you put the check valves in there as to not cause electrical problems later.

Run the lines through the two holes drilled for the airlines and connect the lines to the air stones.

Open the bag of gravel and pour it over the air-stones to keep em held down, and cause more violent bubbling action.

Now make sure you don't have any light getting into the resovoir of water as you don't want algae forming.

Fill the box with water and turn on the pump!Take some clones and put them in there..and you are set to go...

Pictures will follow tonight of the bubble setup and I will let you guys know how long it takes them to root..

Again pics will follow tonight when the lights come on.

If you dont have alot of room and you just wanted to clone 1 to 4 plants:
Take the same air pump and the hose, get as many prescription pill bottles as you need(preferably the big ones) . Take the top off and around the rim of the bottle drill out a notch wide enough for hose to fit through. Drill a 1/2" hole
in the top of the cap in the center. Take a 1 " peice of tubing and slide it down in the hole through the cap. Take some small box shoe box or something and trace the bottom of the bottle on the top of the box, take razor blade and slice an X inside the circle as big as the circle, slide bottles in hole, fill !/2 way with water, put the tube in the bottle at the bottom, screw the cap on and slide a clone down in the tube!

I have a question. Does the water in the reservoir need to be a bit warm? What temp. does it need to be?

All good advice..and yes I do clone in warm water. I also dump about 1/2 teaspoon of rooting powder and a drop of superthrive in there to aid in root growth.

I will post pics and tell you guys how long it takes for them to pop roots, considering i don't use a humidity dome.

I am sure that there are many other kinds, so why don't yall get to puttin them into the DIY forum, MAKE A THREAD....it will just add to the info here at this great site.

So im guessing you use a heat pad? If not then what do you use or do?
Thanks in advance.:punk:

you can add an aquarium heater, they have them at walmart for cheap. also, I don't think you should need anything to hold down airstones unless you have the tiny cheap ones, which you shouldn't use. the best airstones are the long 6+ inch ones, they cover more area.

This box is so small that the ambient heat in the room keeps the water at room temp, and since the box is painted black it attracts light, which equals warmer water.

I use the either 5 or 6 inch air stones, with check valves on each line.

The water looks like a froth because of all the bubbling going on.I am sure i will have rooted clones in just a couple more days! I will keep you guys updated.

The little clone box holds right at or just less than a gallon of water.

Your bubbler doesn't have to be big since they tend to work quickly you can easily pop more in and not throw a perpetual schedule off too much.

Hell all airstones are cheap;) got mine for less than 4 bux.
But i should of bought the air curtains as the bubble more violently. But i was trying to save $$$ as i am low right now.

Okay guys well I have root's! In just 8 days! Considering i am taking clones 2 weeks into flower 8 days is just fine with me, considering soil can take up to 3 weeks sometime.

Anyways the roots arent uber long or anything, but that's okay...they will grow. i already have on ww clone established in soil with plenty of new growth, and now about 12 more clones should be ready in about 3-4 more days now.

Anyways here are the pics for you guys

Pretty much the same thing HERE (http://www.growkind.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7257) in the FAQ.

yeah too bad the pics don't show up ....;) and also why don't someone take some of the DIY threads outta the FAQ's and put them in here????

It would make more sense to me..that all DIY stuff be rounded up on the site and placed here..

hey wake, i've seen your pics and i was wondering.. (also cuz i read the thread in FAQ section)

it looks like your roots are basically dipping INTO the water from one of your pics, and it also looks like the only thing keeping them from falling through are the extra set of leaves on the clone already present. also, are the holes large enough for proper handling when you're pulling those clones out? it looks like you might do a little damage to the roots when you pull em..

i'm very interested in investing some cash into a do it yourself cloner or maybe even to use for flowering.. but that same problem which i questioned above stopped me from doing so..

so let me know, mr wake.. n keep the good stuff commin :)

Yes the hole is only a 1/2" hole but the cutting olds its self upright..and yes the cuttings go down into the water of course..this isn't an aerocloner where you want the cuttings to just get misted with water...you keep em wet and wait for roots to grow, and as far as hurting the roots or cuttings pulling them out, I haven't hurt any of them at all...but so far I have only pulled 5 clones outta it..Im still dialing it in myself.

Ill post a report on the success i have next time around...
