watering your outdoor plants

My plants are w/ my veges in the garden. Should I water my mj as I would my veges? I've read that it's not a good idea to water the leaves...the mj is healthy and about 3" tall.
I usually water w/ a soft rain sprinkler. Any suggestions or advice would be helpful.

As long as they are not flowering and you make sure water droplets don't remain on the leaves that will act like a magnifying glass and burn them.I don't see a problem with it.
