View Full Version : Forced Plants Outside

I used to have a grow set up with 2 compact flos in my closet. Now i am forced to grow outdoors. Once I put my plant outdoors, tiny slugs and other small pests have invaded the soil. I am not fertilizing it and only watering it every 3 or so days...the soil stays moist...its hard to dry for some reason. It is a 1.5 months old and about 1.5 feet tall...in a prbly 3/4 gallon pot. The BIG leaves of my plant have curled upwards and died...and fallen off...while the new branches and small leaving are growing fast... It's now in a place where it gets 12/12 sunlight...CAn anyone give me any tips or tell me if the plant will be ok??? I am a first time grower thanks alot

take them out of the pots man those pots are to small
and throw those plants into the ground thats what they need man they will come back to life if u do

Well why can't I get a much larger pot full of good soil to grow it with? The real soil here is completely dry and crappy.

You could use potting soil in a larger container.
You could also dig a hole 3' x 2'.
Re-fill with potting soil.

in ground they will become bigger then in pots
doesnt make sense *using 5 gal. pots *better to *put them into the ground.
they wont get bigger then 1.5 foot tall in a 3/4 gal pot
up here in polar bear country we use 1 gal and 2 gal and get away with it because the season is much shorter
in the south the season is alot longer and the plants may grow to 12 feet high in ground
rule of thumb 1/2 gal pot per foot of growth
dig a 3'x2' hole fill it with a soiless mix
stick the plants in and fertalise them and water them well
they may be saved yet

Ah I can see star man walking hand in hand with the polar bears on the beach, collecting seaweed.
But wait---star man, didn't you say that you grew 2 6' tall plants out of a soda bottle? You swore it was true and promised pictures.
What's wrong, Sarge wouldn't spring for photoshop?
