View Full Version : Forced budding

I just want to chit chat about this. Last year I forced one plant via black plastic bags. It worked out b/c it was a relatively small plant. All together I got about 1/8ths worth of bud from the whole plant, harvesting the top first and then letting the bottom mature to its prime. This year I forced two larger plants into bud. They are getting to the point where, probably within a week and a half or so, the plastic bags will be a nuisance. I'm a afraid of the bags shaking off the precious THC when I put them on and off. It's amazing they even bud so quickly figuring they get about 3 1/2 hours max of full sunlight, the rest being broadcast. So, my plan now is to use cardboard boxes, but I have yet to get ahold of any big enough yet.

My other question is this... right now, I cover the plant up at about 5:20pm or so... kind of early, but I like to be sure it's in the flowering cycle.... I looked up the sunrise and sunset for my area. It's at about 5:15 or so for sunrise... about 6:45 for sunset. This is a little over 12 hours and 45 minutes. I'm in a situation where I'm tempted to not cover my plants anymore, but I know I can't. I want to go with my friend and stay at his place for a couple of days... or go stay with this special woman I met and ...do stuff... for a day or so... but I can't do anything cause of my plants being in budding stage. When do you think it's a good point to let my plants go on their own and not cover them up anymore? Wait till the day is officially, according to naval statistics, sunrise to sunset less than 12 hours... or maybe a little over it?... ugh.. My other question is pretty complex as well. Figuring my plants already get less than 12 hours of day light already... considering a 5:15am (gets later every day) sunrise and covering at 5:20 or so, do you think that I can afford to cover them later in the evening to extend the day cycle (not that it matters since they don't get much light anyway in the evening) or would lengthening the day any have any effect? dunno, dunno... this stuff confuses me... I just want freedom! hehhe... damn me forcing my plants into bud... only a couple weeks until they are done!

You don't need to cover them up anymore.

Ya think? Ya know? Why so?

Because, in the northern henisphere, all outdoor pot plants have begun to bud, which they always do by late Aug.

Well, you give me confidence, ranger. Thank you... I don't feel as bad for not being able to cover them today... Dunno if I am gonna continue covering them, though.
