I got some seeds started all right but then when they started putting out the three leaf leaves they stopped growing and the first leaves turned kind of greyish or curled under.
They're in soil and it started before I'd given them their first fertilizer.
This is my fourth crop. This is the first time I've had a problem like this.

I hope someone will reply because I am a medical user and I have to know whether to start new seed again or I'll be in trouble medically speaking.

It is possible you over watered your plant. Have you checked the pH? Is it showing any yellowing?

Maybe I overwatered them, that's a possibility.
If they're stunted now do I have to throw them out and start over?
I urgently need to know because this is my medicine and if I have to start new seed I have to do it now.
Is it too late if they get stunted when they're young? Do they just have to be trashed now? They're still alive. The tops are green but the first true leaves are yellowed.
I'm kind of sick right now so I'm going to make an effort to check pH but my energy is kind of limited now.
I never needed to cheeck pH before so I have never learned to do it.

Warwounds,
Sorry to hear you're not feelin well..... These plants sound pretty young to me.. they shouldn't need ferts for the first two weeks or so (I'm giving mine 3wks). What type of ferts are you using? How about the light? If it's floros, you'll need to keep them as close as possible to the plant (without touching). If it's a stronger light, we'll need to know the wattage before advising the height. Don't water until the top layer of soil is completely dry. Good luck w/your gro, bro.

I understand, I'm a med user as well. I would start some new seeds. What is your soil mix? There are a few things we need from you to help. Just give us your specifics and I'm sure we'll have you taken care of quickly.
What part of the country are you in? Any Green Cross near you?

Some seeds will just not grow, I've had a couple that opened and the first two real leaves grew out, but there was no new shoot in the center to continue the plants growth, and it went into suspended animation, so to speak. The second time I saw this I left it alone, hoping it would grow eventually, 2 months later it was healthy and green but still the same, still having only the first two sets of leaves, as if it had come to a dead end in it's growth pattern or something. The problem wasn't because of anything I'd done, it can happen, just a bad seed I guess, just get some more. Good luck.

Genetics do seem to play a large part in how the plant develops. Every crop I've done from seed has one or two really deformed plants. Nothing as extreme as you describe though. If you go from seed again they prefer to be kept relatively dry and once leaves are established they give plenty of warning if they become too dry. If the time situation becomes drastic (again as a medicinal user I can appreciate running out) I would recommend trying to get Indica cuttings from someone. Guaranteed genetic stabilty and fast flowering cycle. I'm trying to bring in some sativas at the moment and the lengthy time line is causing me all sorts of problems, woth it I hope.
Good Luck!
