sup everyone. I know people asks about white bugs in the soil all the time but I cant decide if these are fungus nats or helpful bugs. These little crawling bugs are all in my soil, when i water they crawl to the top and scurry around. Ive sprayed my plants with chrysanthemum spray and used ladybugs. The spray works but definatly shocks my moms. The ladybugs seem to fly away and never stay. So any idea how to identify what type of bug this is and what can i do to stop them if they are harmful?

by the way i did not spray the plants then immediatly place lady bugs into the mix. I waited a good 15 days before adding lady bugs

hi 'wood....a couple inches of sand on top of the soil will help reduce these pests if your not wanting to use a pesticide. An insecticidal sopa will help too, but I believe it does have to come into direct contact to kill 'em. Yellow sticky traps will attract and trap them too.
Early spring, I was nearly wiped out by the fungus gnats and thrips infestation.I employed all the above tactics...+ several hundred lady bugs. ..lolNothin like overkill...
